I am working to entrap the cockroach-y love of my life in his own personal limbo-"No Exit" Library. As a current work in progress, these are untreated and incomplete renders straight from maya.
solSqueal [sohl-skweel]
noun
1. (in folklore) a devious morning spirit, who often take the form of a rooster, generally conceived as having a diminutive human form and possessing magical powers.
2. solSqueal wields a lantern which contains a piece of the sun and is used in part to wake humans and cause various forms of morning mischief.
Commissioned painting. Acrylic on canvas
NOT MY CONCEPT
I am also in love with this piece. I love it so much I don't want to stop working on it. So I am declaring it a work in progress still. I have some noise issues to resolve, yet. I like to call this 'Botanical Drawing' because I think it belongs in a morbid anatomical sketchbook.
Sculpted in Zbrush, modeled in Maya, painted in Mari and rendered in Arnold.
Arnold is the best renderer. I wish I had known about it earlier. This was my first piece using Arnold.
NOT MY CONCEPT. I also can't find the artist. I have scoured the internet and cannot find who is responsible for this awesome illustration.
The old Smith-Corona Typewriter is still the most badass thing I own. I love typing on it and I loved modeling it.
This piece has 4,117 triangles and 2 texture sheets. One for the keys and one for the body.
